New Ontario Brewing Company Re-tool Into Pure North Medical

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR MEDIA: please do not call the brewery – questions should only be directed to[email protected]

NECO Community Futures Development Corporation is proud to participate in the New Ontario Brewing Company project to re-tool the brewery into a licensed distillery that will operate as Pure North Medical. Pure North Medical will produce over 100,000 litres of hand sanitizer in response to the Federal government’s call for urgently needed supplies. Orders will be delivered to our area hospitals, pharmacies and grocers, as well as donated to senior care facilities and first responders. Owners Michael Harrison and Christian Tremblay did not hesitate to start this project trusting that the appropriate agency would step up to assist in the financing of the project. The project will result in the recall of 10 staff and the hiring of 5 new staff to operate 2 shifts around the clock to ensure production.

Incredibly, this project came together in just a few short days. Many others are playing important roles in this initiative, including the administration and engineers at iCAMP/Canadore College, Rod’s Heating, Donald M Seguin Construction, G&P Welding, Kins Brae Packaging, Vaughan Paper, Sharkey’s plumbing and Brew Culture brewing supplies amongst many others. Many of these providers donated and continue to donate their efforts to making sure the distillery / sanitizer plant gets up and running as quickly as possible. City of North Bay staff and fire department are working tirelessly and closely to ensure a safe and fast refit of the space.

“It is very important that the public not come to the brewery at this time” said owner, Michael Harrison. His staff is maintaining strict isolation since the risk of crew members becoming infected is too high and would jeopardize the operation. The sanitizer will be available for purchase in stores locally as soon as production allows.
